CHD National Article Sheds Light on Nebraska’s HIT Board and Health Records Collection
The CHD Defender recently posted an article sharing information about Nebraska’s Health Information Technology (HIT) Board established in 2020. Part of its mission is “to create a comprehensive health record for every patient”, which includes “patient histories, physicals, discharge summaries, immunization records, radiology, lab and pathology results and ordering, medication history, allergies and advance directives.”
Key points from the article include:
- Comprehensive records collection leading to a loss of privacy and being a possible step toward digital health passes like vaccine passports, digital IDs, digital wallets and central bank digital currency (CBDC) that can all further erode privacy and potentially be used coercively
- Nebraska’s program being a pilot that could be expanded across the country, with “10-12 other states watching Nebraska’s implementation”
- Physicians being concerned that “centralized control of medical records” will “further damage the doctor-patient relationship” and the need to reform Pharma, the latest CHD national initiative
Greg Glaser (attorney and digital privacy expert) urged people to “Tell others that digital ID is coming and it’s not cool to get the digital ID. It’s cool to be traditional. If enough people can be motivated to opt out, then we can safeguard our traditional freedoms for ourselves and posterity.”
CHD Nebraska thanks The Defender and author Mike Capuzzo for their efforts in writing this article. Read the detailed article here.
