CHD NE Receives Shout Out from Local Dentist Office for Our Water Fluoridation Mitigation Work
MiBoca Dentistry, will offices in Omaha and Ralston, NE, recently posted a blog about The Hidden Dangers of Fluoride. In it, they describe the negative effects the chemical has on both the oral and gut microbiome, the organisms that live in our body and help our general health (e.g. the healthy bacteria or pre and probiotics that aid digestion).
They are working to raise awareness about fluoride’s potential health risks, as has our CHD Nebraska chapter. The dentist office stated “they (CHD NE) have been extremely helpful in spreading awareness on the legislative affairs regarding fluoride in the water supply.” Earlier this year, CHD NE advocated for and had several members testify on LB 147, which would change water fluoridation practices so that it wasn’t a forced medication, often on an unsuspecting public.
More recently, our chapter had our first Dinner & Discussion event, showing the Fluoride on Trial documentary. It details some of the topic’s history and informs about some of the censored science on the topic that came out in litigation. A federal judge recently ruled against the EPA, stating that water fluoridation poses an “unreasonable risk” regarding reduced IQ levels in children, and that the EPA can no longer ignore that risk. States are now taking action with Utah and Florida both banning water fluoridation outright.
Nebraska needs to join other states and take action on this topic. Some form of LB 147 is likely to be introduced in next year’s legislative session. We urge you to learn more and spread the word – the national CHD organization has a great fluoride information page and we have a section on our Nebraska Health and Wellness Resources page. Water quality is an issue, as “those who don’t filter their water become the filter of their water”, meaning your liver and kidneys have to work overtime removing various toxins, which strains our body and can lead to adverse health outcomes. Together we can make positive change.
